Digimon Adventur Tri: Episode 1 Reaction

Okay, so I've only done this when I watch Doctor Who usually, but I'm going to be giving a scene-by-scene reaction of each episode of Tri. I will attempt to keep it mostly spoiler free, but this is a scene-by-scene look so there will be certain developments.

Anyway, here we go with episode one.

- I do actually feel bad for the 02 kids. Sure, they didn't get the best story-arcs but none of them deserved to be shafted like that. Even Davis.
- Kari, shame on you, holding grudges like that. Crest of Light my butt.
- I feel like this art style should have been used for Digimon since the very beginning. The animation isn't stellar but it does feel more like "alien creatures from another dimension."
- Ah, Matt and Tai. Frenemies to the end. :3
- ... So they're actually serious with the T.K./Kari thing not being a thing. Oh well. On the plus side, Kari being obviously jealous is a marvellous addition to her character.
- "Seating is based on your grade results, highest grade at the front." Um...that's not the logical way round of doing it. Surely if you're going to do that you want the less-academically able students at the front, I would have thought. Am I wrong, or is this just a thing?
- It always makes me feel a tad inadequate seeing high school students in shows being so upfront about asking people out. :/ In fairness though, this is the kind of romantic development which 02 was sadly missing.
- No, T.K. Just...no. You can wear a great many types of hats well but a fedora is not one of them. Sorry.

Very much a set-up piece, so there wasn't a lot going on, but it was cute to see the tamers going about their everyday lives. Still, plot goes forth next episode.
